The sphinx is a symbol that has represented the essence of Egypt for thousands of years. even all the pictures that we see of the sphinx nothing can really prepare you for the time to see the sphinx with your own eyes. Carved from the bedrock of Giza plateau the sphinx is truly a mysterious marvel from the days of ancient Egypt. The body of a lion with a head of a king or a god, the sphinx has come to symbolise strength
and wisdom. Egypt had an extensive pantheon of state gods and some of the gods or kings are here there names are re, Isis,Osiris,Horus,Thoth,Anubis,Seth and amen

In Egypt they had charms and amulets were worn to protect the living and the dead from harm. They could be made out of metal,stone,glass or faience some of the types of amulets are the scarab pectoral the protective amulet was discovered in Tutankhamen's tomb and the wedjat eye symbolized the eye of re and the Egyptians thought the wedjat eye had healing powers and that it protected its wearer and is known as the colour of life.
